Here’s a particularly deep secret not many web gurus are willing to share or actually mention without a fee. Part of the reasons to their success is they were among first to start it all. If you’ll remember hearing,’first come, first serve’ it’s the same way on the web.

Folks usually remember who was first, not 2nd. For example, who was first to sell books online? Amazon ; who was second? Who was first to start mass production cars? Ford ; who was second? Which company was first to start the fast-food chain restaurant? McDonalds ; who was second? Who was the first to build an airplane? The Wright bros ; who was second?

Did you at any time spot the crickets when I asked for the second provider?

We all have a tendency to remember who was first but rarely do we remember too much further than that. Whomever enters the market first generally makes the biggest impression. Almost all of our net pros are filthy rich because they were first to present their products. Is that fair? Well, from their standpoint, naturally it is. But from ours, it isn’t very desirable.

Now you are thinking that you have to be first at something to become rich but you do not know what to be first at ; so, you think it is not possible. Take it easy, my chum. There are methods around it. Let me ask you a question. Who owns money?

Did you try asserting Bill Gates? Did you try saying Donald Trump? Did you even try asserting George Bush? It doesn’t matter WHO you claim to possess money, you are wrong. No one owns money. Bill Gates has money, Donald Trump has money, George Bush has money and YOU have money but no one will ever own it.

Though money is synthetic it is much like nature. No one owns it. No one owns the weather we feel, no one owns the water we drink, nobody owns the air we breathe and such like.

‘Oh, but folks own land!’

Do we really?

My point is this, money belongs to nobody so don’t think you can’t become as wealthy as any other guru you know of. And notice that I never once recounted being first mechanically makes you rich. That is not always the case and that’s the reason why I say the first will make the most important impression.

If wealth was made for only those that were 1st in line, then there would be no such thing as a line. They might benefit before us but it does not mean we cannot benefit anything.

Utilizing Escrow for Your Property Dealings

Posted by admin - October 9th, 2009

Escrow is a function in a sale of a property that calls for the buyer to deposit funds as payment for the asset and the vendor to deposit the legal papers and legal instruments of the asset. A designated escrow firm, who is impartial to both parties, is chosen to supervise these deposits. Commonly, the seller and the purchaser need to agree on which escrow functions supplier they would employ although in most cases it is the vendor who chooses. The escrow firm furnishing the functions makes certain that an contract is accomplished and contracted by both parties. In addition, a portion of its obligation is to do the terms rendered in the agreement so that a fluid shift of possession is done.

The espousing benefits are to be derived when applying escrow: the deposits they produced are insured; escrow marks that responsibilities are done by both parties; proper enquiries and investigations are built to make sure the asset is exempt from responsibilities.

Once the agreement is finalized and an escrow firm is chosen, the agreement will be handed to the escrow company. The escrow firm then goes on to make an escrow account for both parties. Once done, the vendor will then deposit the documents pertaining to the property and for his or her part, the purchaser proceeds to deposit the payment.

The escrow company makes sure that the deed or title of the property is free from every burdens. This offers safety to the purchaser as he or she seizes possession of the asset. An escrow agreement may possibly accept certain conditions like home insurance policy, overhauls, date to vacate the property or loan payments which the escrow supplier should facilitate.

Either party can choose for escrow cancellation if they deem unavoidable. To call off the escrow, the parties must concur to offset it and put it into writing. If the cancellation goes through, service charges will be collected by the escrow functions provider. In an escrow cancellation, a legal hearing may be initiated.

One Great Option You Will Want to See for Yourself: Health and Act

Posted by admin - September 25th, 2009

Numerous managers feel that, by providing staff with some training in workplace safety, they have everything necessary to prevent an emergency. The reality is that, regardless of the industry you’re in, staff should have much more than basic education in health & safety and risk assessment. Equipping workers, choosing an enthusiastic supervisior and encouraging frequent drills are all important factors. All teams need a great supervisor to observe employee performance, however this individual also needs to play another function on the floor. Your choice of supervisor needs to see their health & safety training as fundamental and have the ability to get everyone else feeling enthusiastic about it. In addition to checking compliance with health & safety legislation, the job of a supervisor also almost always includes checking up on employee performance. This is a hard job. Excellent product knowledge is an essential for a supervisory role as well as an in depth understanding of up-to-date regulations involving safety, risk assessment and first aid. Providing health & safety training actually isn’t enough for your workers. They need to have practical experience of risk assessment and the recognition of problem areas. Employees have to understand how to eliminate problems as well as how best to act if anything goes wrong. Your staff are only protected when their training and procedures have become automatic. Good safety gear is every bit as essential to the safety of your staff as any training. When they are without items that is needed, or even notice that they’re not functioning properly only after a crisis has occurred, the training your staff have undergone is wasted. It is vital to examine all your equipment often to ensure that you possess all the essential equipment as well as checking that all the supplies are in a good state of repair. If you have a problem with your equipment, ensure it is mended or serviced as soon as you can.

Health & safety education is essential to the well-being of your workers, however they require good quality apparatus, the chance to practise, and an educated supervisor who can get everyone charged up about being healthy at work. Only then will complying with the various safety regulations be established in your business culture not an inconvenience for employees to think about constantly.

People Management: Some Key Issues

Posted by admin - August 25th, 2009

Succeeding in business depends heavily on efficient people management skills. These skills may be developed and learned. It can be an advantage to have a innate affinity for dealing with people, however you can do some things that will simplify the process. Forging relationships: Begin by memorizing the names of the workforce. Talk to employees; get eye contact during a conversation. Have a respectful attitude, also listen to the other person’s opinion, even if you don’t agree or have another opinion. Paying attention to what staff say is one of the most critical talent management skills in your arsenal. Show an interest in what everyone can give to the business.

Keep your word: Keeping your word is fundamental. If a promise is broken, it will ruin trust, and nobody will offer you their best efforts without trusting you. Each time you make a statement or give a promise, you are wasting your time and effort unless you follow through. To be frank, if you can’t be counted upon, they won’t be there when you really need them.

Encourage any comments: It’s a two way street. Maintaining an open mind regarding other’s ideas is an important skill in managing staff. Being approachable and open establishes that you want to listen to other’s opinions, and they will listen to your ideas. Promoting open conversation also encourages development of innovative ways of thinking, ways of fulfilling the goals of the team, and develops the company in general. If team members have a voice, each member of staff takes ownership of the project’s outcome. Communicating is essential: People management techniques come down to one thing - good communication. Be accessible, listen attentively to other people, encourage all sorts of feedback, and encourage each of your team to express their views. Encourage team members not just to communicate with you, but with each other. The sharing of ideas is essential in the creative process, and by listening to one another, it becomes simple to discover any issues before they could become a problem, and corrections can be put in place before things get out of hand.

A little time and effort will be essential, but the payoffs far outweigh the effort required. By establishing the bonds of a good team and developing effective listening techniques, you can accomplish a successful business.

Problem-Solving Success Tip: Use Your Time for Problems that are Truly Important

Posted by admin - May 18th, 2008

Use your time for problems that are truly important.

Hard as it may be to walk away once you’re aware of it, just because a problem is there doesn’t mean you have to solve it. Ask yourself and your colleagues, “What will happen if we don’t solve this problem?” If the answer is, “not much,” then turn your attention to something more important. If you don’t know what will happen, find out before you undertake a problem-solving project. It should be clear to you and everyone else involved that the problem is worth the effortand expenseto fix it.

Quantify the cost of the problem quickly, but as realistically as you can. Include lost opportunity costs as well as real expenses such as staff time to deal with the problem, travel expenses, etc. Use actual costs where you can; estimate where you can’t. Then guesstimate what it will cost to analyze and fix it. Write your analysis down, stating all your assumptions explicitly. Get a colleague to verify that your assumptions and estimates are reasonable. Start with a rough “order of magnitude” estimate. That may be enough to answer the question of whether you should proceed. If it’s not clear, especially if the cost to solve it will be high, do a more careful analysis.

If it will cost more to fix than to live with the problem, or if the number is even close, perhaps your resources (time, people, money) are better spent on other projects. If you decide to proceed anyway, you can do so with a better understanding of what you’re undertaking. On the other hand, if you can demonstrate that the cost of the problem is much higher than the cost of solving it, using estimates based on reasonable assumptions, it will generally be much easier to get the resources you need. You can use your written analysis as a sales tool to help win support for your decision to proceed or not.

We have to learn to distinguish those things that are truly important from those that are merely urgent. Jerry D. Campbell

Image Management: Who Are You and What Do You Want?

Posted by admin - May 14th, 2008

If image is all about how great you look, it makes the job of image management so much easier! However, the truth is that even though in the first instant it is about how you look in terms of dressing and grooming, the rest is about your body language and words. In this article, I’m not about to coach you on body language and the words you use. I found that there is something more potent - your own integrity in how you deal with people, which affects your body language and choice of words.

I once met a very, very successful business man who was a famous high end men’s fashion retailer in Toronto. He was giving a talk to a professional group that I was a part of at the time. He was charming and seemingly generous when he presented. I was ecstatic as I contacted him for a job interview - I wanted to work for this person! However, once I was there he was very different from the previous night. Whereas he was charming and nice, the man in front of me during the interview was stern, cold and calculating. He was also chomping down his lunch. His body language showed his true self. His eyes were icy. Immediately I knew that I was not going to work for him. This man was cold blooded - a humanized reptile. I saw that he needed to be charming to attract people to buy from his retail stores. I also saw that he was internally not charming or generous. It was all a charade, how disappointing! To further add to the bad impression I had, he said to me that he did not believe in the roles that the group of professional women were in when he gave his presentation that night. This is not a man of integrity. This man may be a successful figure in the public’s eye, but he is not an admirable man in my eyes.

I challenge all business owners who are reading this article to answer this question: who are you and what do you want?

Who you are must be congruent with how you look and how you behave. You cannot ultimately hide who you are inside, even though you may dress well and have good manners. You may charm some people, but can you really be charming forever when it is not a part of who you are? There will always be people who will see through a person’s faade.

In the end, the moment before you die, are you going to feel you haven’t lived your truest self with integrity? Or will you feel that you have no regrets?

Think about how you have so far dealt with your customers and prospects. Did you exaggerate the truth in order to sell your products and services to them? Did you use any tactics to pressure them to buy? Even if they did buy from you, how did that feel inside?

The best image management is not only about your outer appearance, but to deal with your inner self and cultivate it so that you are living congruently with your outer image.

So who are you and what do you want?

Got Purpose? Part 2

Posted by admin - April 22nd, 2008

I guess I found some hot buttons last week eh? Thanks for a week full of real good feedback.

That being the case I’d like to follow along with last weeks theme of Living your purpose. Getting into one of the key elements to doing just that.

Living with Courage.

I believe living a life of Purpose begins and ends with Courage. It takes courage to open up and face your truth, to be honest with yourself.

Clearly, there are many hindrances and roadblocks along the path of purposeful living. In my own life the biggest has been fear. The fear of showing vulnerability. The fear of being judged. The fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of being alone, fear of the unknown and uncertainty. There was fear everywhere I turned. Until one day I just got sick and tired of living in fear.

In a conversation about some of the worlds great revolutions with a friend who grew up in Russia the point was made that one of the conclusions an oppressed people must come to is they “just can’t live this way anymore.” This is the point at which the pain of being oppressed becomes greater than the pain of facing the fear. Fear is an oppressive bully and thief. The way to conquer it is to face up to it with confidence and courage. The feeling comes over you that something has got to change and it has to change now! Perhaps you’ve known this feeling.

I have come to the conclusion (and of course you must arrive at your own) that no one, no situation, no experience, is going to deter me from living the rest of my life on what I believe is the course of my PURPOSE. Eventually, one way or another I will die. But, in the process of living, I am the one responsible for identifying, connecting to and living my own purposeful life. To live any other way would be to not live fully.

What courage do I need to call on? I summon my courage to let go of perceived past wrongs, of regrets, hurts. Things that are done, are done. I look and live forward. I let go of blaming and anger, release jealousy, envy and any feelings of scarcity, helplessness or hopelessness. I’m continually building and healing myself. It takes courage to accept responsibility for my own success and happiness. The courage to live on Purpose. The courage to be real. The Courage to be me.

You decide when you’re ready to move to the next step in your purposeful evolution. Look around. You’ll find a book, a friend, a coach, a spiritual guide or teacher to help you uncover your own true connection to yourself, your truth and your purpose. Maybe you’ll even be that friend, guide or teacher for someone else, which will be part of your own journey.

I am truly grateful for others who showed me through books, stories and in the way they live their life that I can live on purpose and be happy. The key ingredient, as I’ve learned, is Courage.

As always, Thanks for hanging out.

Live some. Love some. Learn some. Everyday.
